Get Gwen's Look: Voice Playoffs

Rob & Mariel – Wardrobe Stylist
Gwen’s look tonight was a modern and cool take on a 60’s Barbarella meets rock and roll look. Since tonight was the first live show of the season we wanted to make a statement with not only something sparkly, but also that had movement and cut outs. All very different than anything expected! The hair and make up were important in keeping the look feeling 60’s and mod, while the dress was the perfect combination of playful and rock and roll.

Gregory Arlt – Makeup Artist
The makeup vibe was "Barbarella” and 60’s chic with a modern twist. I did a very luminous skin with a hint of warm, glowing blush on the cheeks. Matte, neutral eye shadows were the backdrop for a huge, thick, black cat eye liner and lush lashes. I finished it off with a pale, creamy beige champagne colored lip gloss.

Robert Vetica – Hairstylist
Barbarella meets Bridget Bardot was tonight’s inspiration. A 60's vibe with a modern twist complimented by her wardrobe and makeup. I started with wet hair, blow-drying with a large round brush for volume and shine. I focused on volume and the middle part. I used a 3/4 curling iron in two-inch sections by dragging the hair down the barrel of the iron. I used a heat protecting styling spray for protection and hold. Next, brush and spray with hairspray. Finally, back comb at the roots for volume and shape with a styling/shaping brush.
